Create a special soundscape using percussion and voice for our burial of the capsule.Artists: Justin Marshall, Aviva Endean and The Letter String QuartetArtPlay’s New Ideas Lab supports artists and children to work together to develop new arts experiences.Do you want to make some sound with professional musicians? (No musical experience necessary!)Come along to help mark the occasion of the burial of the Sound Capsule, a special time capsule dedicated to the sounds of Birrarung Marr.Create a special soundscape for the event, alongside The Letter String Quartet! We will use graphic scores created with children at ArtPlay to guide the soundscape, and special percussion instruments plus our voices to make sound. At 4pm, we will perform all together for the burial of the Sound Capsule in the ArtPlay backyard.In 100 years, kids will be able to dig it up and hear the sounds of Melbourne from the perspective of children now, and understand how the sound of this place has changed.Be prepared to go outside.
