3 Shades Black is a contemporary classical group that creates film scores by interpreting moving images as graphic notation. Combining media and visual arts, film and music, 3 Shades Black will work with an experienced music educator to show your students how to play and read music from purpose-made short films. Encouraged to bring their own instruments, students will explore improvisation, orchestral tone colour and finally perform their own score by reading from a short film. Students all over Victoria will be able to contribute and share ideas across a variety of social media platforms, and are encouraged to ask questions using the Twitter hashtag #anatomyofmusic. Aviva Endean- clarinets, Miranda Hill- Double Bass, Leah Scholes- percussion, Phoebe Green- viola, Melissa Doecke- flutes.
